Elderly man thanks his ‘Angels from heaven’ for helping him after his car accident

Cape Town – Hawk members came to the rescue of an elderly man who was traveling from Cape Town to Johannesburg after suffering an accident.

SAPS said the 70-year-old had been in the accident near Strydenburg in the Karoo when members of the Hawks, whose names were not released, on the way to De Aar stopped him and helped him.

The man then wrote a letter to the Chief of the Priority Crime Investigation Directorate, Major General Kholekile Galawe, thanking him for what its members did.

In the eulogy letter, he said: “It often takes a crisis to reveal the best in people and it is with this in mind that I am writing to congratulate you on two of your notable staff members.”

“They arrived on the scene, it was as if two Falcons had plummeted like Angels from Heaven,” he continued.

“In that moment of crisis, two remarkable men supported me deftly, intelligent, considerate, and clearly skilled in handling a crisis.”

Although the vehicle was canceled during the accident, the driver whose name is withheld by the Hawks suffered no injuries has received support from members of the Hawks, even after the accident.

Galawe thanked members of the Hawks and expressed his pride in having members of his caliber at his command.
