JOHANNESBURG – Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande and Health Minister Zwelini Mkhize are organizing a briefing on the latest scientific results on the COVID-19 variant.
Genomic research has proven to be a powerful tool in the fight against COVID-19. Investigations by South African genomic scientists into the evolutionary characteristics of SARS-CoV-2 resulted in the detection of the new variant, named 501Y.V2.
