Cape Town – Police are investigating double murder and attempted murder cases after three people sitting in a car were shot.
The incident occurred shortly after noon Saturday in the Elsies River at the corners of 28th Avenue and Halt Road.
Police spokesman Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana said: “Three people were shot, two men in their 30s were fatally wounded, while a woman in her twenties was injured and taken to a medical center for treatment.”
“The shooting reportedly occurred around 12.30. The victims were sitting inside a white VW Golf when unidentified suspects shot them.
“The motive for the murder is unknown at this time and there are no arrests yet.
Earlier today, the body of a woman was found in an open field in Hanover Park.
Rwexana explained that the deceased had no visible injuries and that an autopsy would be carried out to determine the cause of death.
