Zuma defies ConCourt order, will not appear in state capture investigation

JOHANNESBURG – Former President Jacob Zuma is challenging an order from the Constitutional Court and will not cooperate with the State Capture Commission.

He said in a statement that he is not afraid of being arrested, convicted or imprisoned.

“I am not afraid of being convicted or of being jailed,” said the former president’s statement.

The Constitutional Court ordered Zuma to testify before the commission.

It is ruled that you do not enjoy the right to remain silent.

The former president says he has no choice but to be defiant.

Zuma says he is prepared to go to jail to defend the rights he fought for.

He claims that the judiciary treats him unfairly.

The former president also claims that the country’s highest court has become politicized.

“Recently, in the State Capture Commission, the accusations made against the judiciary have been ignored and repressed by the president himself,” the statement read.

“It is also very clear to me that the judiciary and the legal system as a whole point me to a different and special treatment.

“Therefore, I affirm in advance that the State Capture Allegations Commission cannot expect further cooperation from me in any of its processes in the future.

“If this stance is considered a violation of your law, then let your law take its course,” the statement read.
