The husband of the KwaZulu-Natal Treasury MEC, Nomusa Dube-Ncube, died last night in hospital after a brief illness.
Sibusiso Ncube, who was also a prominent businessman, was rushed to hospital a few days ago.
There have been rumors that Dube-Ncube was also seriously ill.
However, sources close to the MEC said the rumors were not true.
“She is fine. She even did tests for Covid-19 and the results came back negative,” the source said.
Brandpartners, the company where Ncube served as president, said it was saddened by his passing.
“It was a great privilege to personally meet and work with Mr. Ncube. His exceptional leadership style in his role as president will be greatly missed by the company, “said company CEO Clinton Govender.
“On behalf of our Brandpartners management team, staff and colleagues, I would like to once again express our condolences to the Ncube family and pray that God will grant them peace and comfort during this very emotional and stressful time,” said Govender.
