Zimbabwe’s civil protection unit reports that three people have been washed away by flooded rivers in Chipinge.

HARARE – At least three people were killed in flooding caused by heavy rains as Cyclone Eloise hit Zimbabwe.
The cyclone, downgraded to a tropical storm since then, has damaged houses and properties and caused the overflow of important dams in the south of the country.
Zimbabwe’s civil protection unit reports that three people have been washed away by flooded rivers in Chipinge.
That’s in the southeast of the country, which was badly hit by Cyclone Idai two years ago.
In Manicaland province, several houses and a school in Chimanimani and Chipinge were damaged. Communities living near the Save River are moving to higher ground.
Two large dams, Manyuchi and Tugwi Mukosi, have started to spill and communities downstream have been put on high alert.
