The 35-year-old man was arrested in George on Saturday after the province’s Narcotics Section of Organized Crime Detectives received information that he was heading to Cape Town with a large shipment of drugs.

“The motorcyclist noticed members of the police entering George and turned off an exit ramp in an attempt to evade the police. A chase ensued and the vigilant members managed to stop the motorcycle on Knysna Road, George,” said Police spokesman Sergeant Chris Spies. .

Police searched the man and allegedly found the drugs.

He was arrested and charged with drug trafficking.

He is scheduled to appear in George Magistrates Court on Monday.
