Messages flowed on social media after the seven-time Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher celebrated his 52nd birthday on Sunday.
Schumacher retired from F1 after a three-year stint with Mercedes from 2010 to 2012, having previously retired in 2006 after a period of great success, winning five world titles, with Ferrari. He also won two with Benetton.
On December 29, 2013, she suffered serious head injuries in an accident while skiing with her teenage son Mick in the French Alps at Meribel.
He hit the right side of his head against a rock, opening the helmet. Schumacher’s condition stabilized after he was placed in a drug-induced coma, from which he later emerged.
Schumacher is reportedly being rehabilitated at his family’s home in Gland, Switzerland.
Reigning F1 champion Lewis Hamilton wished Schumacher the best in a moving message, writing: “thinking of you today“.
In October last year, Hamilton beat Schumacher’s record (91) for the most victories in F1 history at the Portuguese Grand Prix.
Hamilton also equaled Schumacher’s record of seven Formula One world titles after claiming his 94th career victory at the Turkish Grand Prix.
