The department issued fuel price adjustments for January on Monday. The Automobile Association previously predicted steep increases.
The fuel trims are as follows:
Gasoline (both 93 ULP and LRP): increase of 43 c / l
Gasoline (both 95 ULP and LRP): increase of 40 c / l;
Diesel (0.05% sulfur): increase of 55 c / l;

Illuminating Paraffin (wholesale): increase of 55 c / l;
Single maximum national retail price of illuminating paraffin: increase of 74 c / l;

Among the factors that contributed to the increases in the price of fuels is the appreciation of the rand, which led to lower contributions to the Basic Fuel Prices of gasoline, diesel and light paraffin by around 24 c / l, reported the department.
International prices for petroleum products rose in all areas of gasoline, diesel and light paraffin.
The median price of Brent crude rose nearly 20% from $ 42.10 to $ 49.20 a barrel.
