Liverpool travel to Southampton this week hoping to set the record after back-to-back draws. The Reds will have to win to stay ahead of Manchester United. We’re expecting a much smoother performance than we’ve seen lately. Jürgen Klopp has presented a Liverpool fitness update ahead of the trip to Southampton.
Must win the game
The Reds have not gone three games without a win.
The last two seasons have seen surprising consistency from this side of Liverpool.
We are not used to being two games without winning, much less three.
The Reds drew with a stubborn West Brom at Anfield and were controlled by a defensively healthy Newcastle at St James’ Park.

Jürgen Klopp will be determined to get back on track with a resounding victory on the south coast.
Liverpool fitness ahead of Southampton
Kopites is eager to see some stars return with more minutes on the field.
Thiago Alcantara in particular is believed to be the answer to many of our problems.
The club’s official site posted quotes from Jürgen Klopp delivering an update on Liverpool’s fitness before the trip to Southampton:
“I think the 20 minutes, 12 rounds were brilliant and then [Thiago] I felt the intensity, but that’s normal
“He trained exactly twice with the team. There is still some physical work to do, still some rhythm to achieve.
“Shaq is back and that’s the best news by the way: the guys are back and as far as I know at this point, no one was injured, which is very important.
“That means we can probably go with the same team to Southampton.”
What does RTK have to say
Going with the same team is as good news as we could have hoped for.
The Reds have been unlucky with injuries this season, no concern for their fitness is a win.
Hopefully we’ll see Thiago early on at St. Mary’s. The Spaniard changed the game against Newcastle, having him from the start could help us end the opposition early on.
