“We are using the symbolic warmth of the light to bring us into a moment to connect, even though we are physically apart, and we hope that everyone who sees it will take the time to contemplate themes of compassion, solidarity, connection, inspiration and collaborations. . Waterfront CEO David Green said that this New Year’s Eve marked the first time in the 30-year history of the V&A Waterfront that there were no crowds converging for the traditional countdown to a fireworks display at midnight to mark the beginning of the New Year.
According to the statement, the Covid-19 management protocols remain in effect throughout the holiday period and the use of masks is mandatory. In August this year, Waterfront became the first attraction in SA to adopt the Safe Travels seal protocols from the World Travel and Tourism Council.
