LIVE | South Africa v Sri Lanka, second test
Sri Lanka captain Dimuth Karunaratne won the draw on Sunday and again chose to hit first in Test 2 against the Proteas in the Wanderers.
While the Islanders lost their first meeting at Centurion by one inning and 45 runs earlier this week, they nonetheless posted their highest total in South Africa in their first batting effort of the game, playing with positive intent and scoring 396.
Sri Lanka will at least hope it is something that can be replicated here.
With injuries sweeping their team, the visitors have had to make some changes.
The seasoned Lahiru Thirimanne is scheduled to enter No. 3, while there are two debuts for Minod Bhanuka and Asitha Fernando.
Bhanuka boasts a first-class average of over 45, including a high score of 342, while Asitha has consistently performed nationally.
Dushmantha Chameera also enters.
Meanwhile, South Africa has kept their lineup unchanged and hopes to emulate their SuperSport Park recipe.
