The transfer window is now two days old and rumors continue to circulate suggesting Liverpool will strengthen before the end of the month.
The Reds saw their bitter rivals Manchester United draw with them for the top of the Premier League following their 2-1 win over Aston Villa on Monday.
And Jurgen Klopp may well believe he needs some additions in the winter window to avoid United’s challenge.
His team is next in action on Monday when they take on Southampton, but will we see any movement in the market before then?
Here’s a rundown of all the latest gossip coming out of Anfield …
Reds interested in Botman
Liverpool have reportedly started talks on a deal to bring Lille defender Sven Botman to Anfield this month.
The 20-year-old Dutchman has impressed in Ligue 1 since signing in the summer and appears to have a bright future ahead of him.
Players like West Ham are believed to be interested too, but according to transfer guru Duncan Castles, Liverpool have now gotten ahead of their Premier League rivals and believe they could sign the player for around £ 15 million.
Botman would add strength in depth to the center of the Reds defense, with Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez still injured.
Klopp dealt a blow to Alaba
However, German star David Alaba seems less sure to join, as Real Madrid is believed to be closing in on his signing.
Jurgen Klopp is known to be a huge fan of the versatile 28-year-old defender, and was eager for the club to sign him at the end of the season, when his contract with Bayern Munich expires.
However, according to Brand Madrid is close to convincing him to put pen on paper in an agreement to move to the Bernabéu.
Alaba could earn around £ 8.9 million per year in the Spanish capital.
Souvenir of Boyes
Nineteen-year-old center back Morgan Boyes was retired early from his loan period at Fleetwood Town.
Boyes joined the League One squad in August, but has struggled for minutes after having made just two league appearances.
Liverpool clearly do not believe the move has been beneficial to Boyes, and will now return to training with the Premier League team.
It remains to be seen if an alternative loan movement is found in the current transfer window.
