The new Toyota Fortuner SUV is ready to hit Indian roads in the next 6 yearsth January. Ahead of its official pricing announcement, the automaker has released the first teaser image of the updated model that reveals its aggressive headlight clusters with LED projectors, LED DRLs (daytime running lights), and fog light array. The SUV will have sharper character lines along with a revised bumper with larger curtains, a larger grille, and a silver skid plate at the front.
The SUV will also come with newly designed multi-spoke alloy wheels and new LED taillights. This time around, the Fortuner model line will include a new sportier variant called the Legender. Compared to the regular variants, the Toyota Fortuner Legends 2021 it looks more aggressive with a taller front bumper, a sleeker front grill, and a larger air dam surrounded by larger curtains.
The interior design will remain unchanged. However, the SUV will receive a new 8.0-inch touchscreen system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The new 2021 Toyota Fortuner could also come with the cordless phone charger, 360-degree camera view, JBL nine-speaker audio system, power-adjustable front seats, slightly updated instrument cluster, LED ambient lighting, safety sensor from Toyota, seven airbags, lane departure warning, collision avoidance system and radar-guided dynamic cruise control.
As far as engines go, the 2021 Toyota Fortuner will likely come with the same 2.8L 4-cylinder turbo diesel and 2.7L 4-cylinder gasoline engine options. There is much speculation that the 2.8L turbo diesel engine could be upgraded to produce 204 bhp with 500 Nm, as we have seen in its global spec version. The prices of the new Toyota Fortuner will be more or less similar to the existing model which costs between Rs 28.66 lakh – Rs 34.43 lakh (all ex-showroom). It will continue to block the horns against cars like the Ford Endeavor, MG Gloster and Mahindra Alturas G4.
