The Reds apparently see the 20-year-old as a viable alternative to Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez. He adds that Liverpool could take advantage of Lille’s current financial situation.

“Liverpool are working on an agreement. That’s Sven Botman, in his first season in Lille from Ajax for a starting amount of € 8 million (£ 7 million). It has been outstanding in Lille, ”said Castles. “Selection of Holland, 21 next month. High, fast, incredibly strong one by one.
“They would be willing to sell the player for double and a little more than what they paid. They’ve been talking to Botman’s agent. Botman’s agent likes the sounds of conversation and thinks there is a great possibility of a sale in January. “
What RTK has to say: will Liverpool sign Botman?
It looks like we will see quite a few reports like this over the next month. Liverpool’s injury crisis justifies solutions that go hand in hand with transfer rumors and gossip.
So many of these reports could have some validity. Liverpool are currently not blessed with options at the rear, after all. Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip are injured.
The natural response is to look for possible solutions in the transfer market. However, ECHO claims Liverpool want to take an alternative approach.
They claim that the Reds will not engage in any transfer activities during January, with Jurgen Klopp’s intention of developing internal solutions as a result.
Botman isn’t the only player to promote himself with a move to Anfield, after all. Dayot Upamecano, Ozan Kabak and Ben White have also been closely linked in the past.
However, it remains to be seen what will happen in January. Liverpool hopes its existing options can provide sufficient coverage, at least until the summer and possibly beyond.
