In a letter written by the acting secretary general of the MDC-A party, Mr. David Chimhini, workers were told to hand over all party equipment and documents.
“This letter serves to inform you that your fixed-term employment contract will expire on December 31, 2020. All of your outstanding wages due to you will be credited to your normal bank account in due time. The office will contact you once the funds are available. “
According to the letter, the organization reserved the right to renew the contract or not, either on different or similar terms.
“In the meantime, you must return all materials, documents or equipment of the party that were in your custody during the period of your employment contract,” he said.
According to the termination of the contracts, the party’s equipment and documents were supposed to have been delivered to the party’s chief of staff’s office by Thursday, December 21, 2020.
Employees were also required to have completed all assignments given to them by their respective supervisors, while ensuring progress reports or plans were ready by December 28, 2020. MDC-A spokesman Fadzayi Mahere confirmed the termination of the employees’ contracts.
“Our staff had annual contracts that expired on December 31, 2020.
“The administrative department is currently in the process of working on renovations,” he said.
