Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that the Manchester United star is a big doubt for his next game against Wolves.
After securing a 6-2 win against Leeds United and defeating Everton 2-0 at Goodison Park to qualify for the League Cup semi-finals, Manchester United seemed quite confident heading into the game against Leicester City Saturday night. But they only managed a 2-2 draw at King Power Stadium, though it would feel more like a loss for the Red Devils, who gave up the lead twice.
Defensively, both teams made mistakes and to compound United’s misery, center-back Victor Lindelof appeared to have suffered a back injury and was forced to be replaced by Axel Tuanzebe in the 66th minute of the match. Unfortunately, it was his substitute who ended up scoring an own goal late in the match, although he can hardly be blamed for that.
Solskjaer has admitted multiple times throughout the season that Lindelof has been struggling with a back injury, but this time it could be a bigger problem for United ahead of the Wolves game.
According to the club’s official website, Solskajer gave an update on the central defender’s injury after the Leicester City game:
“It’s his back again, I think.
“So we will have to evaluate that before Wolverhampton.
“On the other hand, Eric is in shape now, Axel is in shape, so of course we might have to look at that before Wolverhampton.
“We don’t have time to worry about it. This time around, we have around 30 hours to prepare for this game and we hope players will use them wisely. “

The Swedish international recently admitted that he had been playing with back pain for quite some time. And it looks like you might be about to spend some time on the sidelines as a result.
Lindelof will likely be absent for United’s next game against Wolves, but Ole seems in no rush to bring him back into the fold. He has quite a few options available to him in the form of Eric Bailly and Axel Tuanzebe. As a result, the absence of the 26-year-old center-back will not pose much of a threat right now as it would have done a few weeks ago.
Hopefully the draw doesn’t take away the momentum they had built up over the last few games. The Wolves are always a tough team to take on, but with recent results around them, it allows Solskjaer’s side to get away from the chasing group and reduce Liverpool’s lead at the top.
