JOHANNESBURG – The ruling was reserved in the Constitutional Court’s attempt by the state capture commission to force former President Jacob Zuma to finally appear.
The commission’s legal advisor, Tembeka Ngcukaitobi, presented his case to the highest court in the country, detailing the events that culminated in Zuma’s departure in his last appearance.
The commission has already issued a subpoena for the former president to take the stand for 10 days between January and February.

The court has questioned why, after several delays by Zuma, the commission failed to summon him to appear much earlier.
Ngcukaitobi has painted the former president as a defiant witness who has refused to do his job.
“There is no more confusion about Mr. Zuma’s attitude toward the commission. It is clear that Mr. Zuma is coming back. He has defied the subpoena and defied the instructions of the vice president of the Supreme Court.”
