Al Ahly manager Pitso Mosimane responded to criticism from Ittihad of Alexandria football director Ibrahim Hassan, saying that the Red Devils have to work hard to win every game.

Al Ahly, led by Pitso Mosimane, have given Ittihad of Alexandria a strong 4-0 defeat to seal the full record and earn their ninth point in the third game of the 2020/21 league season.

The goals came through Mahmoud Kahraba, Hussein El-Shahat, Mohamed Sherif and Akram Tawfik as the Reds totally dominated the game.

However, Ittihad’s assistant coach Ibrahim Hassan had another take on the game, harshly criticizing Pitso Mosimane after the game, saying that anyone would win trophies as Al Ahly’s head coach.

“I respect your [Ibrahim Hassan’s] opinion. Maybe his statements will suit clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester City as well, but what I know is that football doesn’t work like that, ”Mosimane said in his post-match press.

“If so, why haven’t Al Ahly won the Champions League in the last seven years?

“Being Al Ahly does not mean that we are automatically the winners of every game. We have to prepare for the games and work hard to win, ”he added.

This was the second time Mosimane has beaten Ittihad’s coach, Hossam Hassan, after defeating him in the semi-final of the 2020 Egypt Cup.

Meanwhile, Ibrahim’s twin brother and Ittihad’s head coach, Hossam Hassan, has lavished praise on Pitso Mosimane, saying he is a coach of high caliber.

Since taking over Al Ahly, Pitso has led Al Ahly in 14 games, winning 13 and drawing the other with 10 men against Pyramids FC.

The team lifted both the 2020 CAF Champions League and Egypt Cup with Pitso, as well as completing the remaining league matches from last season with him.
