Bruno Fernandes was at his best once again during Manchester United’s 2-2 draw at Leicester City on Boxing Day.

The Portuguese midfielder attended Marcus Rashford’s first game and scored United’s second in what was an exciting match at the King Power Stadium.

A draw was a fair result and the game was further proof that Fernandes is the most important player for the Red Devils right now.

In his 14 Premier League appearances this season, the 26-year-old has scored 10 goals and contributed six assists, a pretty phenomenal record.

Understandably, United supporters adore Portuguese midfielder tiger and it seems that club legend Paul Scholes is a huge fan too.

Fernandes celebrates vs Leicester

Indeed, the Englishman, considered by most to be one of the best players in the history of the Premier League, believes that Fernandes is superior to him.

“He is [Fernandes] Better than me. He’s different from me, ”Scholes told United’s Tunnel Insider, according to the club’s official website.

“Score more goals than me, create more goals than me. I’d like to play with him, probably behind him would be fine. But no, it was sensational, a big difference.

“I think that before coming to the team, United could hardly create an opportunity with some of the things they were playing, but now it seems like they can score three, four or five goals in every game.”

Fernandes has truly received the highest compliment from a true United legend.

In truth, Scholes is downplaying his own brilliance, as the 46-year-old acted in a completely different way than Fernandes during his playing days.

Scholes was tasked with dictating the tempo of the games from deep within, rather than being Sir Alex Ferguson’s primary creator.

However, he did manage to score 152 goals and contribute 73 assists in his 709 Red Devils appearances, which is a stellar record for a central midfielder.
