CAPE TOWN – Ocean View Police in the Western Cape are investigating cases of murder, attempted murder and intentional damage to property.

This after the conflict between the fighting gangs in the area on Saturday caused the death of a man, another injured, burning vehicles and a damaged house.

Police spokeswoman Novela Potelwa said it all started when three armed men opened fire on two victims. A man died, while his brother was injured.

“After the shooting, in response, a large group set fire to two vehicles, damaged a residence and chased another person. Ocean View detectives are questioning two suspects in connection with the shooting, ”Potelwa said.

“Meanwhile, a 23-year-old suspect was arrested with a handmade firearm and ammunition,” he added.

A house was also damaged during the attacks.

A 19-year-old man was arrested for setting one of the two vehicles on fire.

There is still a strong police presence in the area to control the situation.
