Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tips Anthony Martial to become a key player for Manchester United in the weeks and months to come after his recent good form.
The 25-year-old French international has been a fixture on the Manchester United squad this season and had scored two goals and provided four assists in all three games before the Red Devils’ clash with Leicester City on Boxing Day.
Martial has also scored four goals in Solskjaer’s men’s cup competitions this season as he looks to prove himself against Solskjaer this season.
Solskjaer has admitted that he has been delighted with Martial’s good form for the Red Devils in recent games and is tipping the French forward to enjoy a strong 2021.
Speaking in an interview before Manchester United’s clash with Leicester on Boxing Day, Solskjaer said: “Anthony has made some big contributions lately – assists, he’s scored goals and he’s improving, as he demonstrated against Leeds.
“And he knows I’m going to talk to him now. His career stats from that game set a new standard for him, which I want to see from him more often.
“It will always have quality. Maybe his confidence was hurt a bit by what happened earlier in the season with the red card, and he’s had some criticism.
“But it’s going to get better and better from now on. When we have Marcus Rashord, Mason Greenwood and Anthony shooting all cylinders together, we will be an even greater threat to other teams. “
Martial hopes to be a part of Manchester United when the Red Devils take on the Wolves at Old Trafford on Tuesday night in their next Premier League game.
Then Manchester United will face Aston Villa at home on New Years Day as they look to get off to a winning start in 2021.
