Former Good Hope FM station manager dies of COVID-19-related illness

Former Good Hope FM station manager Brendan Ficks died of a COVID-19-related illness on Friday, December 25. This comes a week after he lost his parents to COVID-19.

On December 15, Ficks (48) made a post on Facebook explaining that both of his parents had been hospitalized with COVID-19 and that he too had tested positive.

“Reading the latest COVID-19 statistics today, I realized how we have become part of these statistics as well. At first, these statistics were far from me. It became closer as friends contracted the virus and even died, ”he wrote on Facebook. “But know that everything changed, because now we are part of this unfortunate statistic. Please keep us in your prayers and be positive only in your mindset and outlook on life. “

His mother died a day later, on the 16th, and his father died on the 18th. Ficks then passed away on Christmas Day, December 25th.

Since his passing, many have taken to social media to express their condolences for the loss of this family. His friends describe him as a gentleman and someone who was always smiling.
