Limpopo police are investigating a murder case after the body of a man was found floating in the Nwanedzi River on Christmas morning.
In a statement, police said community members called them to the scene in the early hours of Friday.
“The Letsitele police were allegedly notified by members of the community about the discovery. The Provincial Search and Rescue Unit was activated. Then they began with the search operation and managed to recover the body that was found with multiple injuries,” said the spokesman. Police, Lieutenant Colonel Mamphaswa Seabi.
Seabi said the man, believed to be in his 30s, was found wearing a blue, white and red T-shirt.
“During the search in the river they found a black leather jacket and black pants believed to belong to the deceased,” he said.
“The police are appealing to anyone with information that can help identify the deceased or with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects to contact Captain Mavis Shiluvani at 082 469 0900 or crime arrest number 0860010111 or the nearest police station, “he added. Seabi.
