SA wrote in its statement:
The SA Rugby Executive Board has taken note of the arbitration reports involving Jurie Roux and his former employer, Stellenbosch University.
We have referred the matter to our legal advisors for their governance advice, as we have done throughout this process.
In addition, we note that the process allows the parties to file an appeal and we will not comment further until the outcome of the appeal is known..
Roux joined SA Rugby in 2010 and the matter against Stellenbosch University has plagued him since a 2013 KPMG audit found financial irregularities in spending during Roux’s time at the university.
However, last month, the Afrikaans newspaper Relationship reported that Roux’s Rugby SA contract had been extended until after the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France.
