Somizi remembers her mother on her birthday: ‘It’s a bittersweet moment’

Television personality Somizi Mhlongo turned 48 on Wednesday and it is the first birthday she has celebrated without her mother, Mary Twala.

Veteran actress died on July 4 at the age of 80.

“It’s a bittersweet moment, right? I’m turning 48 … and it will be the first time that I won’t get that first call from my bubbly mother. [sic]”he captioned a heartwarming Instagram post.

“I write this with tears in my eyes … but I know that she has already wished me a happy birthday … I am very grateful for life … for going so far … for the blessings …. for health ….. for success [sic]”he added.

In the post, Somizi said a special gift was made by promising it would become a priority.

“… to put somizi first and make sure he’s happy first before making anyone happy,” the post read.
