Manchester United want to sell Jesse Lingard on one condition

Manchester United are reportedly set to allow Jesse Lingard to leave in the next January transfer period on one condition.

Once compared to Barcelona legend Andrés Iniesta, Jesse Lingard is currently enduring his worst season since transitioning into the image of Manchester United’s first team.

Several eyebrows were shocked when Lingard, despite his poor form, received 40 appearances in all competitions from manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last season. However, most of them arrived in the first half of the campaign, before the arrival of Bruno Fernandes in the January transfer window.

The addition of Fernandes along with a surge in creativity helped United secure a place in the Champions League. And on the final matchday, it was Jesse Lingard’s goal in injury time against Leicester City that saw United finish third in the league.

The 2020-21 season was initially perceived as a season of pure resurrection for Lingard. There was a lot of interest from around the world for his signature during the summer transfer window. And when it comes to reports, Lingard was about to leave the club.

Now completely offside at Manchester United, Lingard has made just two appearances this season, both in the far less significant Carabao Cup. He hasn’t been on the team of the day since his 6-1 humiliation against Tottenham Hotspur last October.

According to reports from the Manchester Evening News (via Tribal Football), the Red Devils will allow Jesse Lingard to go on loan in the next January transfer window only if any suitors agree to cover the player’s salary. He currently makes £ 100,000 a week and United is eager to reduce his pay burdens.

Lingard reportedly wants to continue to practice for a Premier League team, and clubs such as Aston Villa and Sheffield United are believed to be controlling the English international. And from now on, a January loan may be the only possible exit from Old Trafford for the 28-year-old.
