Decomposed body of a boy discovered in Cape Town, police seek help after a man’s body was found hanging in a tree

Police are trying to establish the identity, gender and cause of death of a child, whose body was discovered in Imizamo Yethu, Hout Bay, on Tuesday.

“Due to the state of decomposition of the body, age, gender and identity could not be determined immediately. An autopsy is expected soon to determine the cause of death,” said police spokesman Brigadier Novela Potelwa.

Potelwa said DNA tests will also be conducted to determine if the body is that of Anothando Mhlobo, who disappeared from the area in August.

The decomposed body was discovered in a rocky and sandy area of ​​Imizamo Yethu, Potelwa said.

In another incident, Muizenberg police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a deceased man, who was found hanging from a tree.

Police spokesman Captain FC van Wyk said that on Sunday, December 13, around 7:50 p.m., an unknown man was found hanging from a tree branch at Zandvlei Resort, near Muizenberg.

“He was wearing a navy blue jacket, dark pants, blue socks, and white sneakers.”

He said that, in another incident on Wednesday, September 9, the lifeless body of an unknown man was found between the Steenberg and Lakeside train stations.

“He was wearing brown pants, a purple and blue T-shirt and Nike sneakers.”
