- Prince William and Kate Middleton were seen breaking the ‘rule of six’ restriction in the UK amid a surge in the number of coronaviruses.
- The rule limits the gathering of more than six people.
- William and Kate were photographed walking the Christmas-themed Luminate Trail at Queen Elizabeth’s Sandringham estate with their three children, as well as Prince Edward, Sophie, the Countess of Wessex and their two children.
Prince William and Kate Middleton have been criticized once again for breaking restrictions as the number of coronavirus infections in the UK rises.
The couple, who previously received backlash for embarking on his Royal Train tour Amid rising panic over the virus earlier this month, he was spotted with the Wessexes along the Christmas-themed Luminate trail at Queen Elizabeth’s Sandringham estate on Sunday.
Prince William and Kate Middleton were with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, while Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, were accompanied by their children Lady Louise and James, Viscount Severn.
The group of nine therefore broke the government’s ‘Rule of Six’, the latest Covid-19 blocking restrictions in the UK, as they were seen walking together, according to images obtained by the Daily mail, despite the fact that the two reportedly arrived separately and had no intention of meeting.
A Sandringham source has since responded on behalf of the Cambridges and Wessex, reports ITV News, saying, “The two families were given consecutive separate spaces to visit the trail just before it opened to the general public. They arrived and left in their own family groups.
However, they added: “As anyone with young children will know, there were times in the 90-minute walk where it was difficult to keep the two family groups apart, particularly at bottlenecks along the way.”
William and Kate, and now Edward and Sophie, aren’t the only royals to get backlash for breaking restrictions. Princess Beatrice also found herself in trouble after dinner with Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and his clients in London two weeks ago, and critics asked if the “business meeting” was “necessary”.
