A nurse at a Connecticut hospital became one of the first people in the United States to receive the Modern Covid-19 vaccine on Monday.

Mandy Delgado, who works for Hartford Healthcare, was given the injection around 11:40 (16:40 GMT), according to a live broadcast of the event.

“I’m excited. I feel privileged,” the intensive care nurse said later, to loud applause.

Moderna’s first vaccines come a week after the United States began administering the Pfizer-Biotech vaccine.
