Harry Kane claims new transfer link emerges between Tottenham and Manchester United

Here’s your morning recap of Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday, December 22.

Kane’s Tactic Questioned

Former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has pointed out where he thinks Tottenham failed against Leicester City.

The Spurs suffered their second straight loss Sunday when they lost 2-0 at home to Brendan Rodgers’ men, falling to fifth place in the process.

José Mourinho has been successful this season by allowing leading forward Harry Kane to land into deep spaces, hold the ball and bring wingers into play.

But that didn’t work against Leicester, and Hasselbaink believes the tactic should be dropped to get the best out of Kane.

When asked what was missing from the performance against Leicester, he told Sky Sports: “Everything. Intensity, how they approached the game, Harry Kane reaching too deep, too often, I don’t like it. “

Mourinho’s advice remembered

Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay stole the headlines over the weekend when he scored two goals in his team’s 6-2 win over Leeds United.

The Scottish international, who entered the ranks of Old Trafford, scored two goals in the opening three minutes of the Premier League clash at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

The 24-year-old was the preferred choice in central midfield for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with Paul Pogba among those left on the substitute bench.

One man who will be particularly proud of his efforts is legendary coach Sir Alex Ferguson.

The former Old Trafford boss had a brief exchange with then-United manager José Mourinho in 2018 about the player.

At an event commemorating the families and victims of the Munich air disaster, Ferguson was seen speaking briefly with his compatriot before speaking to Mourinho.

And as the Daily Star reported at the time, Ferguson seemed to tell the ‘Specialist’ to pick McTominay on United’s teams for the remainder of the season.

It is said that interest from other clubs could hamper Fiorentina’s efforts to tie Milenkovic to a new contract.

His current contract expires in 2022 and Spurs is mentioned as a possible destination for him. Premier League rivals Manchester United and AC Milan are also credited with an interest in the 23-year-old.

Fiorentina is reported to want € 25 million for Milenkovic, which is equivalent to just under £ 23 million.
