Kaizer Chiefs head coach Gavin Hunt admitted that the pressure on Amakhosi is unmatched in South African football.
Kaizer Chiefs has the largest fan base in the country and leading the Soweto giants is taking its toll on the four-time Absa Premiership-winning coach.
Hunt’s tenure at Chiefs started disastrously with the Amakhosi winning just seven points in their first eight league games and Hunt has since opened up on the turbulent start.
It hasn’t been easy at Kaizer Chiefs – Gavin Hunt
“Yes. It’s definitely the most stressful job. It’s only been a few games, but it certainly is. It hasn’t been easy. Things have gone a bit against us, but sometimes you have to try harder for those things.” . Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt was quoted as saying by Citizen.
“Based on the evidence of the opportunities created, I think two points have been lost. We had great chances in the first half and they didn’t have any that I remember. They scored a wonderful goal and that was it. It is more a matter of losing two points than of winning.
“I think I know where the problems are and we have to keep fighting. And that’s all you can do. You can’t change anything in terms of, you know what I’m talking about (the Kaizer Chiefs transfer ban). We have to keep trying and do the best we can. “
The Kaizer Chiefs then turn their attention to the Angolan giants Premiero De Agosto, whom they face in a second round match of the CAF Champions League on Wednesday night. The first leg will take place at the FNB Stadium and action is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.
When it comes to DStv Premiership matches, Kaizer Chiefs have closed their 2020 chapter and will face Maritzburg United on January 9, 2021.
