JOHANNESBURG – The body of a ranger who had been missing for a month was found in the Kruger National Park.
Checkers Mashego is reported to have disappeared during a routine patrol along the southern part of the park on November 17.
The exact circumstances surrounding his death are still unclear.
The Department of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries said Mashego had a decade of experience and members of SANParks’ environmental crime investigation unit are now combing the scene of his death.
Authorities said the body would be sent for DNA analysis to confirm the identity of the victim.
