JOHANNESBURG – Two people were killed and six others injured in a collision on the N3 motorway in Heidelberg on Friday morning.
It is understood that a truck crashed into a stopped minibus and then caught fire. Police were investigating the cause of the accident.
As firefighters put out the blaze, paramedics treated the injured at the scene.
ER24 spokesman Russel Meiring said: “At approximately 5:50 am ER24 arrived at the scene and found that the provincial and fire services were already present. A large truck and a minibus were found at the scene. Two men were found to have succumbed to their injuries, while six others suffered minor to moderate injuries. “
