British singer Sandie Shaw reportedly slammed Spotify over a multi-year podcast deal with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

The Duke and Duchess announced Tuesday that they had agreed to a multi-year contract with Spotify to produce podcasts, which would be available exclusively on the streaming platform.

Shaw, best known for winning Eurovision for the UK with Puppet on a String, lashed out at the deal for its alleged value, saying the artists didn’t have the same ability to negotiate deals with Spotify.

She told a news outlet: “Lucky Meghan and Harry were able to negotiate a podcast deal with Spotify.”

He was reported to have said, “I would like the recording artists to be in the same independent position to negotiate broadcast deals directly for them as well.”

Meanwhile, Spotify does not disclose the information itself about how much it pays per stream.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have faced backlash since signing the Spotify deal. Sandie Shaw is one of the most successful British singers of the 1960s.
