“The attitude is bad, discipline is lacking and we don’t have confidence in ourselves.”

Wow, I can’t believe what I’m reading here as Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno has given a damning summary of what he thinks is wrong at Arsenal and I have to say it’s not a pretty read. Arsenal fought again last night against Southampton, once again sent off thanks to Gabriel, and now they have scored their first point in five home games. It’s no wonder Leno is upset!

However, one thing he stands firm on is that it is definitely not Arteta’s fault and he places these labels clearly on his teammates.

Read this and see what you think… ..

Leno told Sky Germany when asked about the pressure that was building up on Mikel Arteta: [pressure on Arteta] not a problem at all. The coach is the least guilty that we are in this situation.

“If you look at the way we ran down the field sometimes, the players are the only ones to blame. I have to be honest about it.

“We are getting red cards, making mistakes, being out of position. These are things that we have clearly addressed a thousand times. In the end, it is a lack of concentration on the part of the players.

“The coach is not a problem in the dressing room, there are no criticisms of him. We criticize ourselves and the players know they are responsible.

“We really have quality, but suddenly there was a break. But no one can blame one person.

“The numbers speak for themselves that things haven’t been going well lately. Before that, we often lost deservedly.

“We drew 0-0 at Leeds, but it was a lucky point. We deserved to lose against Tottenham, against Wolverhampton as well, against Aston Villa even 3-0. Those [games] It was too many weak results and disappointing performances.

“The attitude is bad, discipline is lacking and we don’t have confidence in ourselves. There are many factors at play here.

“We have addressed this very clearly internally and everyone agrees that we have to change this very quickly.”

Well, you can’t accuse Leno of beating around the bush! You’ve left each and every one of your cards on the table, and it should make for an interesting conversation the next time there’s a team meeting in the locker room.

For a long time we thought that there must be internal problems that make us win only 2 points from six games, but now we have it straight from the horse’s mouth.

So what do you think of that?
