PARYS – The secretary general of the African National Congress (ANC), Ace Magashule, said that those who leaked the report of the integrity commission recommending that it step aside were immediately disciplined.
Magashule told reporters on the sidelines of an event discussing the scourge of gender-based violence with young men in her hometown of Parys, in the Free State, that she would not resign.
His fate will be discussed by the ANC’s national executive committee next year.
The integrity commission recommended that he resign, but that if he refused to do so, the NEC should suspend him until his criminal matter is resolved.

Magashule chose Parys to make her first public appearance since the integrity commission report was leaked.
While he said very little, he told reporters that there was a court request seeking access to the details of his meeting with the commission.
He also criticized the leaking of the report.
“That is undisciplined. I don’t know how it was leaked and I’m sure that is left to the organization ”.
Magashule argued that the public, who have often expressed outrage at corruption, understood the ANC processes unlike the media.
“The media should never determine the pace and pace of the ANC; the ANC must face its process as an organization and as a liberation movement “
