NDZ Bulletin Regulations on Alcoholic Beverage Sales and Super Spreader Events

Under the amended regulation, as of December 17, initiation practices were prohibited at the national level, but initiation practices would be allowed in the Eastern Cape, except in Nelson Mandela Bay.

According to President Cyril Ramaphosa’s national address on Monday night, the Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, has released regulations that will restrict the sale of alcohol from 10 a.m. M. At 6 p. M. From Monday to Thursday.

The president announced that a revised curfew would be implemented from 11 pm to 4 am and that religious institutions and places where social events are held, such as cinemas and theaters; casinos; museums, galleries and archives; gyms, fitness centers and swimming pools; restaurants, bars and shebeens; and places where sports are organized must close at 10 pm.

South Africans must still wear masks or an appropriate article that covers the nose and mouth when in public spaces.

Attendance at funerals is limited to 100 people and no night watches or “after the tears” events are allowed.

The president also announced that the beaches in the Eastern Cape and the Garden Route district will be closed to the public from December 16, 2020 through January 3, 2021.

The beaches of the province of KwaZulu-Natal would be closed to the public on December 16, 25, 26 and 31, 2020 and January 1, 2 and 3, 2021.
