JOHANNESBURG – The Labor Appeal Court dismissed the request from public sector unions seeking to force the government to implement wage increases for this year.
The court ruled that clause 3.3 relating to the CPI plus increases of 1% for 2020 was illegal.

The Labor Appeal Court has dismissed the request of the unions seeking an order to enforce clause 3.3 of the 2018 wage agreement.
Found the clause to be illegal. The government does not have to increase the salaries of public servants this year. TM
