KZN Sees Increase in COVID-19 Infections Among Healthcare Workers

JOHANNESBURG – KwaZulu-Natal is experiencing an increase in the number of Covid-19 infections among healthcare workers.

This has been confirmed by the Nomagugu Simelane-Zulu Province Health MEC.

Call for calm after social media posts claim healthcare workers are infected with COVID-19 at multiple hospitals.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 7,400 healthcare workers have contracted the virus.

A percentage of them succumbed to the disease.

57 percent of the nurses were infected, followed by six percent of the doctors.

Over the past 24 hours, KZN has seen 1,613 new coronavirus cases.
