An investigation file was opened into the deaths of four suspected home burglars who crashed into a tree during a shootout with farmers in the northwest.
Six men driving a white Toyota Raider he entered a farm in Biesiesvlei on Friday afternoon, targeted the farmer and his wife at gunpoint and stole cash, cell phones and firearms from them.

Three of the four occupants were certified dead at the scene, while the fourth died at Thusong Hospital. “
Mokgwabone said that various items, from firearms to cash to cell phones, were found at the scene.
“While processing the scene, the police found seven firearms, ammunition, cash, bank cards and cell phones. The investigation into the matter continues and the arrested suspects are expected to appear in court soon on charges of burglary at a home, ”said Mokgwabone.
Mokgwabone said police were investigating “a case of possession of allegedly stolen property, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, as well as an investigation file after the deaths of four home burglar suspects.”
