According to Hawks spokesman Zinzi Hani, the director allegedly claimed TERS funds from the Department of Labor on behalf of 36 employees who worked for him during the Covid-19 pandemic.

It is alleged that the money claimed never reached the workers’ pockets, but was used for their own benefit.

The 44-year-old will spend the weekend behind bars and appear in Atlantis Magistrates Court on Monday on charges of fraud.
