Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says Anthony Martial will return tomorrow for Manchester United’s game against Manchester City.
Martial limped off against West Ham last Saturday and missed the Champions League outing against RB Leipzig on Tuesday.
In his pre-match press conference before the Manchester derby, broadcast live on the club’s official app at 1:30 pm, Solskjaer confirmed that Martial will be returning.
Meanwhile, a decision on Edinson Cavani has yet to be made, but Solskjaer said he is back on the pitch.
“It was a long journey back so we had a recovery day on Wednesday and after that the focus has been good, focus on this game, the Manchester derby,” Solskjaer said.
“It’s probably the best game you can ask for after such a disappointment because it stays in your system.
“Anthony will definitely be involved, Edinson has been on the pitch but I will make a decision later.”
Martial opened the scoring when United last faced City, that 2-0 victory in March in the last game played in front of fans at Old Trafford.
He has struggled to stay in shape this season, seems to have little confidence and the injury was another setback during a difficult season.
It gives Solskjaer a decision to make in advance. His front line was almost decided by him in Leipzig.
The other dilemma he faces is whether to stick with the five-man defense that worked against City in March but struggled to contain Leipzig midweek.
