JOHANNESBURG – The secretary general of the African National Congress (ANC), Ace Magashule, declined on Thursday to say with certainty whether he would resign if asked by the party’s integrity commission.
Instead, Magashule emphasized the need to allow what he calls the ANC processes to unfold.
During a press conference after the last national executive committee meeting of the year, Magashule was praised by party spokesman Pule Mabe for being brave enough to volunteer on the ANC’s integrity commission.
Magashule has been under pressure to “step aside” after he was accused of fraud, corruption and money laundering.
He has refused; however, the ANC has reaffirmed its commitment to the resolutions made at the 2017 conference.
Magashule was scheduled to meet with the party’s integrity commission on Saturday.

He declined to release any other information about the session, including how he planned to defend his case before the party’s veteran structure.
“There is nothing I can say … I do not want to prejudge or anticipate what they are going to say.”
On the question of resigning, he refused to give in. While it had previously been challenging, it now says the organization must navigate.
When asked by Eyewitness news if he deviates from the discussion about the results, he said it would be up to his colleagues.
“Let the ANC and national officials decide.”
The top six in the match were expected to deal with the outcome and then share them with various higher structures in the match.
