The Special Court ordered on Thursday that a tender for the supply of goods awarded to Ledla Structural Development: a company linked to the spokesperson for the presidency To protect Diko’s husband: to be reviewed, set aside and canceled.

Ledla has been named in court documents as a “proxy” for Thandisizwe friends Diko, a family friend of Gauteng Health MEC Bandile Masuku and Khusela Diko’s husband, the Sunday Times reported in August.

On August 19, the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) submitted an urgent request to the Special Court seeking urgent redress in three orders.

First, the cancellation of a contract allegedly awarded to the company; second, the preservation of specific amounts of money held in various banks and distributed by Ledla. He had received a payment of R38.7 million from the health department.

Third, the order was intended to prevent the government pension fund from releasing pension benefits with respect to the former chief financial officer, Kabelo Lehloenya, pending the outcome of the civil proceedings.

The Special Court granted the interim order and asked the 39 defendants to present reasons on a return date.
