It is alleged that after 500,000 rand was transferred from Shepherd Bushiri Ministries to Rosey’s account, it was subsequently reflected in the child’s parents’ home loan account on January 22, 2018, and the rape charge was dropped. against Clifford.
National Prosecution Authority spokesperson Sipho Ngwema said in a statement Thursday: ” A 45-year-old brigadier, Rosey Resondt, who works for the national organized crime SAPS, appeared in Pretoria Magistrates Court with her husband. , Clifford Cornelius Resondt, who is the head of security for Shepherd Bushiri.
They appeared accused of corruption. This comes after the husband was arrested on January 20, 2018 for allegedly raping the wife’s niece.
” On January 22, 2018, an amount of R500,000 was transferred from Shepherd Bushiri Ministries to Rosy’s account. The amount reflected in the parents of the child’s home loan account.
” On the same day that the money was reflected in the parents’ account, the child dropped the charges against the husband. On the next court date, the matter was withdrawn from court. ”
The State did not oppose the couple’s bail, but requested that a reasonable amount and strict bail conditions be established, even so that they do not leave the province. The brigadier also has to hand over one more passport in his possession, even if it has expired.
The magistrate granted them a bail of 15,000 rand on the condition that they report to the Olivenhoutbosch police station every Monday between 6 pm and midnight and not interfere with any state witnesses.
The matter was postponed to February 25 for further investigation.
