Viral star Olpha Selepe, better known as Gee Six Five, has passed away, her niece confirmed Wednesday.
Gee Six Five became an overnight hit after their Amapiano song “Obani Lababantu” recently went viral.
Former True Love editor Sbu Mpungose broke the news that her aunt passed away on Twitter, saying, “My beloved aunt, MumNcane, who many of you know as #GeeSixFive is no more.
“She showed leadership throughout her life, was the epitome of bravery and inspired many with her single #ObaniLababantu.
“Hate her, Shandu kaNdaba, Sontshikazi. #RIPGeeSixFive “

It was also confirmed in a statement that Selepe tested positive for coronavirus on Monday.
Selepe did her first and last live performance on Mzansi Insider last week, where she performed her hit song.
