Manchester United have a big task ahead of them heading into tomorrow’s game with RB Leipzig.
Paul Pogba’s return to full-back, and training against West Ham, seemed to bring some optimism.
So his agent, Mino Raiola, decided to fill in. The Italian has a history of making misjudged comments about his client’s future at a terrible time.
Raiola told Tuttosport that, in his opinion, Pogba has no future at United.
This has sparked a visceral reaction from United fans, understandably.
Raiola is a shame for dating this before a big game.
Suddenly, the construction of the accessory is dominated by the discussion about Pogba’s future.
Whether he plays or not, he now becomes a bone of contention.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should consider removing Pogba from the team entirely. And if you have a problem, you should direct it to Raiola.
Pogba’s contract runs through 2022. Either he leaves in one of the next transfer windows or free in 18 months.
Raiola’s comments feel designed to draw out his client and he can get their wish.
United cannot continue like this, it is not healthy to have a player who does not want to be at the club.
Even if Pogba’s comments seem completely compromised, his agent undermines him, the manager, and the entire club.
We are approaching the point of no return, regardless of the outcome on Tuesday night.
