- Bride, Lauren Jimenez, tested positive for Covid-19 just three days before her wedding.
- Together with boyfriend Patrick Delgado, the couple from California, USA, had to think creatively about how they were going to meet the scheduled wedding date, and they did.
- After the successful wedding, photos of the groundbreaking ceremony have gone viral on social media.
After postponing their wedding three times and having their marriage license expired, Patrick and Lauren decided to go ahead with their plan to get married at the end of November, even though Lauren had to isolate herself, as mentioned by the Indian Express.
This led the couple to perform one of the first ‘contactless’ weddings of 2020, according to Mitú.

Where there is a will, there is a way
Lauren sat on the windowsill of her bedroom on the first floor of her parents’ house, while Patrick was one floor below her. The two each had opposite ends of a rope decorated with flowers, as seen in a tweet shared by NBC News.
The ceremony had just 10 attendees, all masked and socially estranged, with some choosing to watch the ceremony from their cars, according to Indian Express.

“Although it’s definitely not how we envision our wedding day, Patrick and I were able to exchange our vows,” Jiménez told Good Morning America.
According to Good Morning America, once Lauren received word of her positive result, she called all providers to cancel their services, while making sure her officiant and photographer were comfortable participating in the impromptu ceremony.

“We were cautious the entire time, making sure we always wore our masks everywhere,” Patrick told KTLA.
According to Mitu, Lauren went back to bed after the ceremony was over. The newlywed couple continues to keep their distance as Lauren recovers from the virus.
