Bulls and Springbok scrum half Ivan van Zyl It is reported that he will join the English club Saracens.

CEO of Blue Bulls Company Edgar rathbone saying Red24 that while the move had yet to be confirmed, Van Zyl had indicated his desire to advance his career in England.

“It is a real shame because Ivan is playing rugby very well at the moment. Obviously, we will not stand in his way if that is his decision (to leave). The Saracens have made a good acquisition,” Rathbone said.

English media reports indicate that Van Zyl will join his new team before the end of the year, but Rathbone insisted that the player will not be released before July 2021.

Van Zyl, 25, has been involved with the Blue Bulls since 2008, when he represented the union at U-13 Craven Week.

He played six tryouts for the Springboks in 2018.

The Saracens were recently relegated from the Premiership after being found guilty of violating the English RFU salary cap.
